McLaughlin Ties Shot Put School Record at Sun Angel Classic

TEMPE, Ariz. – Redshirt freshman Keely McLaughlin tied the shot put school record on Saturday night highlighting the Oregon State track and field team's performance on the final day of the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe.
In total, the Beavers posted five times or marks that now sit on the OSU all-time leaderboards. McLaughlin's performance in the shot put ties her for the school record at 50-feet, 0.5-inches with Kam Johnson, a mark set in 1984. Freshman Taylor Crockem had a big night finishing in eighth place with a best throw of 147-feet, 9-inches, a mark that now ranks No. 5 in Oregon State history.
Sophomore Claire Corbitt finished her three-day competition streak in the 100-meter hurdles. Corbitt crossed the finish line in 14.62-seconds for 22nd place, but now ranks No. 9 in the OSU record books.
Grants Pass native Tarisa Olinski had a top-20 showing in the 400 meters, her only event of the day. Now with the ninth-best time in OSU history, Olinski finished with a time of 57.52-seconds and in 16th place.
Freshman Jordynn Slater, from La Pine, etched her name into the record books at Oregon State with her performance in the javelin on Saturday. Slater's top-10 finish at the Sun Angel Classic at 147-feet, 9-inches gives her the No. 5 spot in the record books at OSU.
