Beavers Host USC in Return to Pac-12 Play

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State re-opens Pac-12 play at home on Friday when it welcomes USC to Gill Coliseum for its second of three games in six days.

The Beavers and Trojans will both be looking for their first league wins of the year after dropping close rivalry games to AP Top 25 teams. In the last meeting between the two teams, Talia von Oelhoffen scored 31 points on 10-21 FG to lead OSU to a 63-61 win in overtime.

MEET THE VISITORS
USC comes to Corvallis with a 10-2 overall record and an 0-1 mark in league play. The 2022-23 roster features All-Pac-12 honoree Rayah Marshall and three-point marksman Alyson Miura as well as seven transfers. Kadi Sissoko leads Southern Cal in scoring with 16.4 points per game while Marshall's 10.3 rebounds per game ranks among the league leaders.

Oregon State has been one of the top teams in the Pac-12 since the 2014-15 season with a 98-38 record in league play. Beaver players have earned 13 All-Pac-12 First-Team nods over the last six seasons and head coach Scott Rueck is one of five coaches in Pac-12 history to win the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year Award multiple times.

The Beavers have been known for their lockdown D under Scott Rueck. Oregon State has allowed 58.7 points per game over the course of his tenure and has held opponents under 65 points in 70% of its games. Raegan Beers is also among the most efficient freshmen in the country with her scoring. Among the 61 freshman in the nation averaging at least 10 points/game, the Coloradan ranks first in FG%, making 59.8% of her shots. Beers also ranks in the 93rd percentile in points per play (1.02) and points per scoring attempt (1.23) with a Player Efficiency Rating of 34.2, one of just six freshmen in the country over 30.
