SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Oregon State men's soccer team fell on Saturday night, dropping a road contest 2-0 to the No. 8 ranked San Diego Toreros.

The defeat snapped a streak of five-straight victories for the Beavers, and seven straight matches unbeaten. San Diego moves to 10-1-2 and remains unbeaten in WCC play at 4-0-0. Oregon State moves to 8-3-2 on the year, and suffers its first conference loss to move to 4-1-0 in league action.

Oregon State finished with a 15-11 advantage in total shots, led by five from Arnau Farnos and three by Tomas Bedouret, both of whom had chances nearly find the back of the net.

Farnos had his 28th minute attempt deflected and miss just over the bar, while Bedouret found himself open near the six-yard box after a corner kick, but his left-footed shot clanged off the crossbar and out in the 82nd.

San Diego found a 17th minute goal against the run of play before scoring off a penalty kick in the 19th and settled in defensively, limiting the Beavers to four first half attempts. Despite out-shooting the Toreros 11-4 in the second 45 minutes, USD blocked four attempts to keep the Beavers out.

Much like they have all season, Oregon State's offensive opportunities culminated in a commanding advantage in corner kicks, finishing Saturday's game with eight to the Toreros' one; Gandhi Cruz made two saves in net.

Oregon State returns to action on Wednesday at Paul Lorenz Field, hosting LMU. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m..
