
Beavers Continue Impressive Weekend with Six New Top-10 Records

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State Track and Field team wrapped up a successful weekend with strong performances at the Silver State Invitational in Reno and the Danville Indoor Opener in Boston, earning multiple top finishes and several entries into the OSU record books.
At the Silver State Invitational, Jada Hurley shined in the 60 meters, finishing sixth in the finals with a time of 7.67 after placing eighth in the prelims at 7.65. Megan Hatcher's 7.82 in the prelims secured her the #7 spot in OSU history, while Mersayis Shedd clocked 8.19. In the 600 meters, Ava McKee claimed third with a time of 1:35.87, and Sydney Van Der Zee finished 11th in 1:43.32. Jayla Hooper excelled in the shot put, taking third with a throw of 14.30m/46-11, earning the #4 spot in OSU records.
Over in Boston, the distance squad delivered impressive results at the Danville Indoor Opener. Ainsley Herron finished 18th in the mile with a time of 4:49.49, earning #6 in OSU history, while Ruby Broadbent followed in 24th at 4:53.04. In the 800 meters, Jillian Brown posted a personal best of 2:10.09 to finish eighth and secure OSU's #3 all-time spot, with Ellie Quintana clocking 2:17.62 for a personal best.
In the 3,000 meters, Kate Laurent led the Beavers with a personal best of 9:20.71, earning the #3 spot in OSU history. Delaney Griffin followed closely with 9:22.34 for the #4 all-time mark, while Sage Brooks, Sydney Partyka, and Erin Cosgrove each logged strong performances, including a personal best for Cosgrove at 9:33.98.

Jayla Hooper broke the school weight throw record with a mark of 19.19m/62-11.5, surpassing the previous mark by over seven feet to take first. Markayla Billings set a personal best of 15.23m/49-11.75, finishing 10th and earning #9 in OSU records.
In the high jump, Dede Norman won with a leap of 1.78m/5-10, ranking #6 in OSU history. Lexi Hunt and Grace Proudfoot tied for fifth at 1.70m/5-7, with Proudfoot achieving a personal best.
Freshmen Megan Hatcher and Addison Swartzendruber impressed in the 400m, placing third (56.07) and fourth (56.60) for #3 and #4 in OSU records. Ava McKee cut three seconds off her 800m personal best to finish fifth in 2:19.61. In the 200m, Jada Hurley placed 11th in 24.86, with Mersayis Shedd running 26.62 for 46th.

The Beavers will compete in the UW Preview in Seattle, Washington January 17-18.
