
Beavers Set 4x400 Relay Record at Stanford

BAY AREA, California – Oregon State's 4x400-meter relay team raced to a school record 3:42.43, shaving two seconds off the previous school best to highlight a weekend at Stanford and San Francisco State.

The team of Jada Hurley, Anneke Moersdorf, Adael Scatena and Kate Sorensen set OSU's new measuring stick to close Saturday's action in Palo Alto. Hurley was also on Oregon State's record-setting 4x100-meter relay team.

Oregon State's distance team had a strong weekend as well, highlighted by Friday's 5,000-meter results at Stanford. Sage Brooks and Kate Laurent entered the OSU Top 10 at no. 6 and no. 8 while Erika Cunniam raced to a personal best that would have ranked among the top 10 before Brooks and Laurent entered the list.

Joining the list of strong performances was Maya Bachelor, who just missed the Oregon State Top 10 with a 2:10.99. The mark was just .27 seconds off the no. 10 time and marked a personal best for the freshman.

Emily Foote highlighted the first day in San Francisco, running a personal best of 17:26.09 in the 5,000 meters. Aleen Golla and Grace Rubio made debuts in the event as well.

Saturday brought a pair of highlights at the Fanelli Classic with Claire Lee securing a career best 3.55m/11.-7.75 pole vault. On the track, Jamie Hamlin finished fourth in the steeplechase in 10:44.21.
