October 29, 2025 | Wrestling
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Following the 25th Pac-12 Team Title in program history last season, the Oregon State wrestling team will open the 2025-26 campaign this upcoming weekend.
The Beavers will take part in four tournaments and face nine opponents in dual action between November and March before the Pac-12 and NCAA Championships conclude the season.
Out-of-conference opposition for Oregon State includes Arizona State, North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Ohio State, Utah Valley and Wyoming while Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield and Little Rock make up Pac-12 action. Tournaments include the Princeton Open, Roadrunner Open, Cliff Keen Invitational and the Reno Tournament of Champions.
Fans will see faces old and new this season, including in the opening tournament in New Jersey where 17 Beavers will vie for Princeton Open crowns. Earlier this month during the Orange and Black duals, three returning NCAA qualifiers (Maximo Renteria, Nash Singleton and CJ Hamblin) even won their bouts, securing their spots in the lineup.
Seven student-athletes – Renteria (#16, 125 lbs.), Gabe Whisenhunt (#26, 133), Singleton (#26, 141), Hamblin (#28, 157), Matthew Olguin (#22, 174), TJ McDonnell (#21, 184) and Justin Rademacher (#6, 197) find themselves in the rankings in the preseason polls.
A 2024 NCAA qualifier and Pac-12 champion at 197, Rademacher, will also return to the lineup following his redshirt season in 2024-25. The West Linn, Ore., product highlighted his summer with a U20 World Championship in September, which marked his second U20 World Medal after winning bronze last year.
Seven true freshmen – Joel Adams, Koy Davidson, Jeffrey Lopez, Khale McDonnell, Anthony Mutarelli, Beau Priest, Adrien Reyes and Manny Saldate – joined the program ahead of the year and will each look to break out for their big moments this season for the Beavers. Oregon State also utilized the transfer portal and brought Keller Rock and Daschle Lamer (a Corvallis native) into the program.
In the corner, familiarity will be there for the Beavers. Head coach Chris Pendleton returns for his sixth season in Corvallis while Josh Rhoden – the associate head coach – is back for his fourth. Over the summer, three Beaver alumni – Cory Crooks, Brandon Kaylor and Trey Munoz - were elevated on the staff. Crooks was moved up to assistant, Kaylor to assistant and Munoz was tabbed the graduate assistant coach.
