Hester Named WCC Defensive Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Annika Hester has been named West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
The Falmouth, Maine, native had an impressive week of action, tallying 28 digs (3.11/set) and 13 blocks (1.44/set) across nine sets played, also finishing with double-digit kills in both matches.
Hester set a new career high for digs at Saint Mary's, finishing with 15, also contributing five blocks in the Beavers' reverse sweep of the Gaels. With 11 kills in that match, Thursday's performance her first double-double at Oregon State. She carried that momentum into Sunday contest against LMU, finishing with yet another double-double that included 13 more digs and 13 kills, while also leading the team in solo blocks (five) and total blocks (eight).
Across 81 sets played in 2025, Hester now ranks third on the team in blocks per set (0.85) and total blocks (69) while maintaining a critical role in the Beaver attack, where she holds averages of 2.06 kills and 2.59 points per set, both of which rank fourth highest on the team.
