
Farnos Named WCC Player of the Year

CORVALLIS – Seven Oregon State men's soccer players have earned conference awards, headlined by Arnau Farnos, who was named WCC Offensive Player of the Year, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Farnos is joined on the WCC First Team by Andrew De Gannes. Fran Cortijo and Lucas Fernandez Kim were both named to the WCC Second Team, while Nico Nee was selected as an Honorable Mention. Sava Catlett and Tim Hoffman both made the WCC All-Freshman Team.
A 2024 United Soccer Coaches All-American, Farnos was named WCC Midfielder of the Year last season. Earning his third career All-Conference honor, Farnos leads the WCC in points per game and goals per game. With 14 goals on the year, the midfielder is tied for fifth on Oregon State's single-season list. He is also second in career points (72) and fifth in career goals (27).
De Gannes earned All-Conference honors for the first time in his collegiate career. The defender has started 15 matches this season, scoring two goals and providing eight assists. A vital part of the Oregon State back line, De Gannes has helped the Beavers hold four clean sheets this year.
Cortijo also earns conference recognition for the first time, following a regular-season campaign that saw him score six goals and record five assists. Hie season has been highlighted by game-winning goals against Seattle U and Cal State Fullerton. Cortijo currently sits on 17 career assists, trying him for sixth in program history.
Lucas Fernandez Kim earns All-WCC honors in his first year with the Beavers, after joining the team as a transfer from UC Davis. The midfielder started all 16 matches, helping Oregon State control the game through the center of the park. He finished the regular season with two goals and four assists, and played the full 90 minutes in 13 matches.
Nee is also in his first season at Oregon State, as a transfer out of Princeton. He has started 12 matches on the year, and currently has three goals and five assists. Nee's season was highlighted by a four-point performance at Seattle U, where he recorded a goal and two assists.
Catlett has appeared in 10 matches on the year, making his first career start at Stanford in September. He has scored twice on the year, including a last-minute tally at Pacific to lift the Beavers to victory.
Hoffman has started 10-straight matches for Oregon State and has seen action in every game. He has two goals and a pair of assists on the season.
As a team, the Beavers finished the regular season with a 10-4-2 mark and placed second in the WCC. Oregon State will host Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday at Lorenz Field.
