Sanchez Surpasses 200 Career Saves in Loss to Saint Mary’s

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Mya Sanchez made seven saves as Oregon State women's soccer fell, 3-0, to the Saint Mary's Gaels on Wednesday at Paul Lorenz Field.
Sanchez, who entered the game with 197 career saves, moved up two spots in the all-time rankings, surpassing Hailey Coll (2021-23, 200) and Elizabeth Pease (1997-00, 201), and now sits at sixth in program history with 204 shots stopped in her illustrious Oregon State career; Colleen Boyd (2008-11) sits in fifth place with 252.
Avery Pleiman tallied the Beavers' lone shot on goal, finishing in a tie with Adele Schwab for the team lead in shots with two. Isa Calderon made the first start in her collegiate career, playing 48 minutes, while Madison Paolini put in a 15-minute shift late in the game for her third-consecutive appearance.
St. Mary's got on the board with a trio of goals in the first half, a lead that was insurmountable despite the Beavers outshooting the Gaels, 5-3, in the second half and finishing with a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Oregon State will play its season finale at Gonzaga on Saturday.
