Fernandez Kim Selected By Timbers

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Oregon State's Lucas Fernandez Kim has been selected in the third round of the MLS SuperDraft by the Portland Timbers. The midfielder was chosen with the 75th overall pick.
Fernandez Kim 21st player in program history selected in the MLS Draft, and the seventh in the last three seasons.
Fernandez Kim earned All-WCC honors in his first year with the Beavers, after joining the team as a transfer from UC Davis. The midfielder started all 16 matches, helping Oregon State control the game through the center of the park. He finished the regular season with two goals and four assists, and played the full 90 minutes in 13 matches.
As a team, the Beavers finished the season with a 10-5-2 mark and placed second in the WCC. Oregon State made the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
The 2026 Major League Soccer season is slated to begin in February.
