
Beavers Rack Up Points on Day One

SPOKANE, Wash. – Oregon State delivered strong performances on the opening day of the MPSF Championships, finishing day one in the lead with 46.5 points as a team.
Jada Hurley impressed in the 60-meter prelims, clocking a personal-best 7.51 to automatically qualify for the final. She later added more points for OSU with a sixth-place finish in the 200 meters, setting another PB at 24.15—the fastest time in program history.
Dede Norman secured eight points in the long jump, finishing second with a mark of 5.88m/19-3.5, while Delaney Bahn contributed two more points with a seventh-place finish at 5.65m/18-6.5.
Oregon State dominated the 5,000 meters, securing three top-five finishes. Kate Laurent led the charge in second place with a time of 16:32.11, followed closely by Delaney Griffin in third who finished in 16:32.97 and Molly Latincsics in fifth posting a time of 17:06.84. Their combined effort earned 18 points for the Beavs.
In the pole vault, Mia Fowler cleared a personal-best 3.81m/12-6 to finish sixth and move up to No. 2 on OSU's all-time list. Claire Lee and Maddy Juhler tied for 11th at 3.51m/11-6.25.
The weight throw saw two Beavers score, with Markayla Billings placing sixth with a PB of 16.73m/54-10.75 and Bea Pettersson finishing seventh at 16.59m/54-5.25.
The Beavers capped the evening with a strong runner-up finish in the distance medley relay. Maya Baechler, Addison Swartzendruber, Jillian Brown, and Ainsley Herron crossed the line in 11:23.80, marking the second-fastest time in OSU history.
With a strong first day in the books, OSU looks to carry the momentum into day two starting with the 60 meters finals at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday.
