Five Beavers Earn Academic All-District Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Five Oregon State athletes have earned Academic All-District honors for Track and Field/Cross Country, the College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday. Maryann Ackerman, Delaney Bahn, Katie Gelston, Jamie Hamlin and Sara Sanders all received the award.
Ackerman is majoring in Forestry. She posted a personal best of 52.38m in the javelin at the Triton Invite this spring.
Bahn is a Psychology major. She set the Oregon State record in the long jump at the Pac-12 Open this year.
Gelston is a Mechanical Engineering major. She won the discus at both the Pac-12 Open and the Oregon State High Performance Meet.
Hamlin is a Political Science major. She stopped the clock in 10:21.79 in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Oregon State High Performance Meet to place fifth.
Sara Sanders is working towards her MBA after graduating with a degree in Kinesiology. She finished 12th in the javelin at the NCAA West Regional, on her way to All-America Honorable Mention recognition.
