
Beavers Capture MPSF Title with Dominant Final Day

SPOKANE, Wash. – Oregon State closed out the MPSF Championships in historic fashion, piling on points across multiple events to secure their first conference title since the program's rebirth in 2010.
The Beavers finished with 128.5 points, well ahead of the second-place team's 102.5, capping off a weekend of standout performances.
Ainsley Herron delivered one of the biggest wins of the meet, taking the mile title in 4:46.47 to earn 10 points. OSU dominated the event, placing four in the top eight, with Sage Brooks in fifth, posting a time of 4:51.72, Ruby Broadbent in sixth, finishing in 4:52.91, and Sydney Partyka in eighth with a time of 4:56.14 all contributing to the team total.
Jillian Brown added another runner-up finish in the 800 meters, clocking 2:11.07 to earn eight points, while Kate Laurent led a strong 3,000-meter effort with a fourth-place finish of 9:40.06. Erin Cosgrove placed fifth with a time of 9:44.47 and Brooks crossed the line in 9:45.84 to finish in sixth.
Jada Hurley picked up two points in the 60-meter final, posting a time of 7.57, and Megan Hatcher placed seventh in the 400 meters to add another two.
Oregon State dominated in the field, highlighted by Jayla Hooper's victory in the shot put. Her throw of 14.93m/48-11.75 set a new OSU best, while Bea Pettersson took second at 14.32m/46-11.75 to add eight more points.
In high jump, Dede Norman placed second with a clearance of 1.75m/5-8.75. Grace Proudfoot earned fourth with a height of 1.70m/5-7 and Lexi Hunt placed fifth, jumping 1.70m/5-7, combined for nine more points.
The Beavers wrapped up the day with a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 relay, posting a time of 3:44.10, marking the fastest time in program history.
DAY ONE
Oregon State opened the MPSF Championships with a dominant performance, leading the team standings with 46.5 points after day one. Jada Hurley set a personal best of 7.51 in the 60-meter prelims to qualify for the final and later breaking the OSU 200-meter record with a sixth-place finish in 24.15.
In the long jump, Dede Norman secured second place with a mark of 5.88m/(19-3.5, while Delaney Bahn added points with a seventh-place finish. The Beavers excelled in the 5,000 meters, earning 18 points behind top-five finishes from Kate Laurent in second, Delaney Griffin in third, and Molly Latincsics in fifth.
Field events saw more strong performances, with Mia Fowler clearing a personal-best 3.81m/12-6 in the pole vault to move to No. 2 in OSU history, while Claire Lee and Maddy Juhler tied for 11th. In the weight throw, Markayla Billings finished with a throw of 16.73m/54-10.75 and Bea Pettersson posted 16.59m/54-5.25, placing sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Beavers closed the night with a runner-up finish in the distance medley relay, as Maya Baechler, Addison Swartzendruber, Jillian Brown, and Ainsley Herron clocked 11:23.80—the second-fastest time in OSU history.
