Ly Goes Low, Beavers Sit Tied for Second

LAHAINA, Hawai'i – Kyra Ly led the Oregon State women's golf team on Tuesday, as the Beavers finished the second round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational tied for second.
OSU finished the round with a 4-under 284, bringing their two-day mark to a 9-under 567. The Beavers sit tied with Denver and Sacramento State, nine strokes behind tournament leader Washington.
Ly posted a score of 4-under 68 on Tuesday, bringing her score to a 5-under 139 on the event. She will head into Wednesday's final round tied for third after netting her seventh score of even or better in her last eight rounds. Ly's round featured five birdies in her first eight holes, including four-straight from hole 4 to hole 7. She will go into the final round four strokes off the tournament lead, coming off of a bogey-free Tuesday round.
The third and final round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 11 a.m. PT (8 a.m. HT) on Wednesday and live scoring is available at this link.
Madde Sund followed her 4-under 68 on Monday with an even-par 72 on Tuesday, as she sits tied for seventh with an overall mark of 4-under 140. The senior recorded a pair of birdies in the round, giving her a total of nine over the course of her two rounds. She will head into Wednesday looking to finish a tournament below par for the first time this season.
Raya Nakao was part of a trio of Beavers to shoot even-par 72 on Tuesday, recording three birdies in the round. For the tournament she now sits at 2-under 142, and is tied for 18th place.
Rebecca Kim made a jump on Tuesday, moving up eight spots on the leaderboard as she also fired an even-par 72. Her round was powered by back-to-back birdies on holes 7 and 8, as she brought her overall score to a 2-over 146.
Clara Alevag birdied the 11th hole on her way to a second-straight 2-over 74 - bringing her total score to a 4-over 148.
BYU rounded out the tournament's top-five with a team score of 7-under 569.
