Joining from fellow Pac-12-member, Cal Poly, Lamer is coming off a runner-up finish at the league's 2025 Championships and a 13-9 record in the 2024-25 season with the Mustangs. He capped his time at the Cliff Keen Invitational last December with a major decision win over then-12th-ranked (and All-American) TJ Stewart by major decision at 10-0 after taking the title in November's Roadrunner Open.
He opened his collegiate career with nine wins – including three by technical fall – in the 2023-24 season and highlighted it with a Roadrunner Open title.
Lamer comes from a wrestling-heavy family. His father, Chad, was a three-time NCAA Division II national champion at South Dakota State; his brother, Brawley, competed at Cal Poly; his brother, Chance, competed at Michigan and his brother, Legend, wrestles for Nebraska.
Prior to joining the Mustangs, Lamer helped lead Crescent Valley to three team state championships while becoming a four-time winner individually, was named the state's Most Outstanding Wrestler and compiled a 118-14 record with the Raiders. Lamer also was the 170-pound winner of the Doc Buchanan Invitational, took the 165-pound title at the Reno Tournament of Champions and was the runner-up at Super 32.
