Attao Takes Gold at Junior Pan Ams
August 21, 2025 | Wrestling
ASUNCICON, Paraguay – Aden Attao added another championship to his resume – the 130-kilogram Greco-Roman title at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games.
The two-time U20 World Medalist rattled off a 5-0 tournament which featured a come-from-behind win to clinch the gold medal. With time winding down, Attao erased a late margin using a late takedown – with just :40 to go – to secure the win by decision at 3-1.
Attao had a dominant run on the way to the title bout. His championship showdown was secured by a pin and pair of emphatic technical falls.
Earlier this summer, Attao qualified for the U23 Greco-Roman World Team following back-to-back U20 Pan American Games golds at 130 kg. Last summer, he took fourth place at the Olympic Trials ahead of the 2024 Summer Games.
