August 31, 2025 | Men's Soccer
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 14 Oregon State men's soccer team battled hard, but fell to No. 7 Indiana 2-0 Sunday evening in Bloomington, Ind.
Indiana netted the game's first goal on a first-half penalty kick and added a second early in the second frame. Oregon State out-shot Indiana 17-15 on the night and 16-3 in the second half. Arnau Farnos led the Beavers with eight shots in the contest.
Oregon State will return home this week with a 2-2-0 record on the season.
The Hoosiers opened the scoring in the 17th minute on a penalty kick which was awarded following an Oregon State handball within the 18-yard box. The Beavers created a pair of scoring opportunities with back-to-back corner kicks late in the first half, but the Hoosiers headed to the break in front 1-0.
Indiana added a second less than a minute into the second half, heading one home from tight range off an inch-perfect cross from the right wing. Oregon State pressed forward after that, with Farnos forcing a save with a header in the 49th minute.
The Beavers continued to attack in the 58th minute, coming up with a couple of attempts on goal that were both blocked. Farnos forced another save in the 78th.
Oregon State maintained its attacking momentum down the stretch, but could not find a breakthrough as Indiana claimed the two-goal win.
The Beavers will be back at home Thursday to host Cal State Fullerton.
