Braden Atkinson, Jesse Legree Earn Pac-12 Honors, Again
October 12, 2026 | Football
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson and wide receiver Jesse Legree have been recognized by the Pac-12 Conference Monday after their performances in the Beavers' 66-14 win over San Diego State.
Atkinson was named the Pac-12's Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, while Legree continues to sweep Freshman of the Week honors. He's now won it six times this season.
Atkinson, meanwhile, is honored for the second consecutive game. He was also named a Manning Award Star and Davey O'Brien Great 8 quarterback on Monday as well.
Atkinson surpassed 400 yards and five touchdowns for the second consecutive week. He became just the fourth FBS quarterback this century to pass for 400 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions in back-to-back weeks, joining Dillon Gabriel (2020), Joe Burrow (2019) and Jared Goff (2015).
Atkinson is one of eight Manning Stars Of The Week and one of eight Davey O'Brien Great 8 quarterbacks. He is the first Beaver to earn Offensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks since Jermar Jefferson in 2020, and the first to win it three times in a season since Jacquizz Rodgers in 2008.
He has thrown for a national-best 2,257 yards – he is one of just two quarterbacks over 2,000 – and 21 touchdowns. His 376.2 passing yards per game are more than 58 yards ahead of SMU's Kevin Jennings, who is second.
Legree hauled in 191 yards on a career-best 10 catches, putting three into the end zone. The wide receiver and Baltimore, Md., native now leads the nation with 932 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Legree also became the first Beaver wideout to surpass 100 yards in six consecutive games, breaking a five-game record he shared with Mike Hass (2005) and Brandin Cooks (2013).
Atkinson, Legree and the Beavers stay at home this week to take on Washington State for a 3 p.m. PT matchup at Reser Stadium.
