Hartwell, Lin Lead Beavers At OSU Invite After Two Rounds

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Freshman Davis Hartwell leads the Oregon State Invitational through 36 holes, and the Oregon State men's golf team is tied for second, one shot off the lead, heading into Tuesday's final round at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
Hartwell, who won the CDA National Reserve Invitational in his collegiate debut last month, opened with a 5-under 66, the low score of the first round, and followed with a 68 for an 8-under 134 total. He holds a one-stroke lead over Washington State's Finn McCall and Oregon's Von Gordon, both competing as individuals. Hartwell has played all five of his collegiate rounds at par or better.
Stanley Lin is tied for fourth at 6-under 136 after rounds of 67 and 69. Including his closing 69 at the CDA, Lin has now posted three consecutive rounds in the 60s.
Oregon State, as a team, posted rounds of 280 and 278 for a 558 total, 10 shots under par at the par-71 course. The Beavers are tied with Oregon for second, one stroke behind leader Eastern Washington (557).
Quinn Hefele made his college debut, posting rounds of 75 and 73 for a 148 total to sit tied for 64th.
Ethan Elleraas (72-70—142) is tied for 32nd at even par, and Miles Romagnoli (82-71—153) is 70th after improving by 11 shots in the second round. Competing as an individual, Owen Bascom (71-66—137) is sixth at 5-under. His second-round 66 matched the lowest round by a current Beaver.
Oregon State competes in the third and final round Tuesday at Trysting Tree, with play beginning at 8:30 a.m. PT.
