Reigning WCC Champion Beavers Picked First in Preseason Poll
February 26, 2026 | Women's Rowing
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's rowing was picked first in the West Coast Conference Preseason Coaches' poll, the conference office announced on Thursday.
The Beavers, who are the reining WCC Champions, won the program's first ever conference championship last season, sweeping the All-WCC yearly awards as Rhi Loughnan was named WCC Rower of the Year, Linda Weitmann won Newcomer of the Year, Taylor Denger was Coxswain of the Year, and Director of Rowing Michael Eichler was tabbed the WCC's Coach of the Year.
Each of last year's award winners are back for another season along with Tulla Angeley, Giulia Clerici and Charlotte Lightfoot who also earned a spot on the All-WCC Team in 2025.
As part of the release, Angeley, Clerici, Lightfoot and Loughnan were also named to the 2026 All-West Coast Conference Preseason Team.
Angeley helped her boat win a race in six out of seven regattas last spring, which included multiple ranked wins. Clerici, now a senior, was in the varsity eight all season and was a CRCA Scholar Athlete, joining Lightfoot and Loughnan, who were also in the V8 all season long – including during the Beavers' dominant performance at the WCC Championship that included margins of factory of approximately 10 and 12 seconds.
