AUSTIN, Texas – The Oregon State women's golf team battled cold and windy conditions to finish in seventh place at the two-day, 54-hole Betsy Rawls Invitational on Tuesday.
Raya Nakao led the Beavers with her 11th career Top 10 finish and third this season.
Oregon State shot a 62-over 321-302-303—926 at the par-72, 6,473-yard University of Texas Golf Club to finish seventh in the competitive 16-team field.
Nakao, a junior from Kaneohe, Hawai'i, finished in a tie for 10th place with an 8-over 75-75-74—224. She had five birdies over the three rounds.
The individual champion at the 2025 WCC Championships, Nakao finished sixth at both the Leadership and Golf Invitational and Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship this past fall. She was voted to the 10-member WCC All-Conference Team following her sophomore campaign.
Kelly Hope, a junior from Pretoria, South Africa, finished in a tie for 20th place with a 15-over 75-77-79—231. She had five birdies in the tournament, including two in the final round.
The tie for 20th place is Hope's best career finish, bettering the tie for 24th she posted at the Molly Collegiate Invitational that was held at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis this past September.
Kyra Ly finished in a tie for 22nd place with a 17-over 83-74-76—233 that included an eagle on the par-400-yard 17th hole in the final round. Ly has finished no lower than 26th place in her final season at Oregon State.
Kate Nakaoka finished in a tie for 45th place with a 24-over 90-76-74—240 and Rebecca Kim shot a 34-over 88-83-79—250 to finish in a tie for 63rd place.
Host Texas won the team title with a 14-over 878 and Farah O'Keefe of Texas was the only golfer to finish in red figures to claim medalist honors with a 1-under 215.
The Beavers return to competition next Monday at the three-day PING/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, Ariz.
