March 21, 2026 | Women's Track & Field
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State Track and Field opened their outdoor season on their home track at the OSU PNW Invite. The weekend was highlighted by a record breaking throw by Maryann Ackerman.
Beatrice Pettersson opened the meet in ideal fashion, posting a top-10 regional hammer throw and a top-10 all-time mark at Oregon State with a 54.95m/180-3. She and Olivia Chamizo - competing unattached and throwing a PB of 50.59m/165-11 - went 1-2 among collegians.
Megan Hatcher continued a run of success for the Beavs with a 1:00.80. The time was no. 8 all-time at OSU, a personal best, and a top-10 mark in the region at the time of the race.
Dede Norman provided a highlight in the high jump, clearing last year's regional bar of 1.76m/5-7.25. Lexi Hunt finished second behind Norman with a 1.71m/5-5.25 clearance in her outdoor OSU debut.
Maya Baechler - competing unattached while she redshirts the outdoor season - provided the day's best and final moment for OSU. The Canadian led a pack of Beavs who dominated the 1,500 meters with a 4:15.94, a PR that would rank third in school history if she had been in-uniform.

The mark surpassed her previous best by four feet and broke the Oregon State school record by 10 inches, moving her to No. 1 all-time in program history.
Havana Alonso followed with a personal-best 45.33m/148-8 to move into ninth all-time at OSU, while Anna Raimondi and Kaylen Rabalais added depth in the event.
In the pole vault, Mia Fowler and Claire Lee placed third and fifth with clearances of 3.50m/11-5.75 and 3.35m10-5.75, respectively. Peyton Craven added a third-place finish in the long jump while competing unattached.
