Beavers Rally To Complete Four-Game Sweep

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State's six-run seventh inning pushed the Beavers to a 7-2 win over Xavier Monday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, giving Oregon State the four-game sweep.
Tyler Inge drove a two-run double to tie the game after Oregon State found itself entering the inning down 2-0. Adam Haight then blooped in the game-winning, scored on a wild pitch, and then watched Jacob Galloway drive in the fifth run of the inning on a double to short center. Bryce Hubbard capped off Oregon State's (11-4 overall) scoring on a single to right.
The Beavers added on a seventh run in the eighth on another wild pitch and just like that the comeback was complete, ensuring Oregon State's sixth-consecutive win. Xavier, meanwhile, dropped to 5-11 on the year.
AJ Hutcheson came on in relief in the top of the seventh, and got out of a bases-loaded jam. He induced a 5-2 fielder's choice for out No. 2, then picked up a strikeout to close out the win. He eventually earned the win after the Beavers' come-from-behind victory.
Galloway had two of the Beavers' six hits on the night.
Connor Mendez started for the Beavers, and the first of five OSU pitchers worked four innings, scattering a hit and a run with five strikeouts. His lone blemish was a solo home run by Clay Burdette.
Burdette put Xavier up 2-0 with a sixth-inning sacrifice fly.
The Beavers hit the road for an eight-game road trip that starts Friday in San Diego. The Beavers and Toreros get underway from Fowler Park at 6 p.m. PT. The game will air live on the Beaver Sports Network and ESPN+.
