Roblez, Whitney Named To Midseason Watch Lists

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Albert Roblez and Dax Whitney were each recognized with selections to midseason watch lists on Wednesday.
Roblez has been selected to the midseason watch lists for the Stopper of the Year and Pitcher of the Year. Whitney, meanwhile, has been selected to the Pitcher of the Year list.
The duo help comprise a list of 43 players named to the Pitcher of the Year watch list, as announced by the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Roblez, meanwhile, is one of 59 relievers on the Stopper of The Year list.
Roblez leads the country with 11 saves this season, which also ties him for ninth in a single-season at Oregon State. The senior right-hander is 1-0 with a 0.57 earned run average, allowing just a single run in 15 2/3 innings. He has struck out 32 while limiting opponents to 10 hits and two walks, posting a 0.77 WHIP.
Additionally, the righty has inherited 13 runners this season, stranding 12.
Whitney, meanwhile, has posted some of the best numbers in the nation this season. He sits second with 97 strikeouts on the year, and enters this weekend's series versus Hawai'i with a 5-1 record and 1.76 ERA in 10 appearances, all starts.
The sophomore right-hander has held opponents to a .183 batting average in 56 1/3 innings, posting a 0.94 WHIP. Whitney has struck out 10 or more in six of his 10 starts, which includes 17 versus Baylor on Feb. 20, which tied the Oregon State single-game record.
