Jemai Lake Signs with Beavers
April 24, 2026 | Men's Basketball
CORVALLIS – Guard Jemai Lake has signed with the Oregon State men's basketball team, head coach Justin Joyner announced Friday.
Lake will join the Beavers as a freshman out of Tualatin, Ore.

Freshman
Tualatin, Ore.
Lake will join his brother, Josiah Lake II, on the Oregon State roster, and will follow in the footsteps of his father Josiah Lake Sr., who played for the Beavers from 1998-2000. Jemai Lake is rated as the No. 1 player in the state of Oregon for the 2026 signing class, and was named Oregon 6A Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jemai Lake to Oregon State University," Joyner said. "Jemai is a true point guard in every sense of the word—someone who controls the game, elevates his teammates, and brings a winning presence every time he steps on the floor. Jemai comes from a championship background and pedigree. What stands out most is his poise, his feel for the game and his ability to make the right play time and time again. He plays with tremendous confidence and self-belief, and that mindset allows him to impact winning at a high level. His skill set, vision, and leadership make us very excited for his future here in Corvallis.
"What makes this even more special is the legacy he will lean into. With his father and brother's incredible careers in Corvallis, Jemai comes from a family extraordinarily connected to Oregon State. That pride and connection show up in how he approaches the game, how he plays the game, and the standard he carries with him. We are incredibly excited about Jemai's future here. His ability to lead, his self-belief, and his history of winning make him a perfect fit. The Beaver Nation is going to love the toughness, confidence, and command he brings to the court."
Lake led Tualatin to the 6A state title his senior season, scoring 27 points in the championship game to guide his team to a one-point win over Central Catholic. Lake is a two-time Oregon All-State honoree and was Three Rivers League Player of the Year this season.
