Oregon State’s Rally Comes Up Just Short To End Trip

Easton Talt tripled with two down and scored when Adam Haight doubled to right. Hubbard then hit an offering 418 to right field to pull OSU to within one but the Cougars stemmed the rally with a strikeout to end the game.
The home run was Oregon State's second of the game.
Paul Vazquez hit a two-run opposite field home run with one out in the sixth inning to start the Beavers' scoring. Oregon State, down 4-2, pulled to within one when Ryan VandenBrink reached on a throwing error later in the inning. That enabled Nyan Hayes to score from third.
Washington State (15-17 overall), which went up 4-0 after three, added to its lead with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the sixth to extend its advantage for good.
Vazquez had two hits for the Beavers, doubling in the second inning. Haight also had a pair of hits in the loss.
Noah Scott made his first start for the Beavers (25-7) and allowed eight hits and four runs in 2 2/3 innings. He took the loss to drop to 2-1 on the year. He was relieved by Wyatt Queen, who came on in the third and struck out four in 2 1/3 innings of work.
