16 Rowers Recognized for Academic Success

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Taylor Jones and Isabella Mitchell been named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team with 14 others earning Honorable Mention honors, the conference announced Thursday.
In order to qualify for All-Conference Academic recognition, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to their team and in at least the second year at their school.
Jones appeared in all four spring regattas, competing in the first varsity four for the first three before moving into the second varsity eight in OSU's matchup with Washington State. With her in the boat, OSU has won different three individual races, which included victories over the likes of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Gonzaga and Washington State.
Mitchell has split time with the second varsity eight and varsity four, competing in all four spring regattas. She helped the team to wins over Gonzaga and Portland at the Oregon State Invite while also posting wins over those aforementioned Big Ten schools in April, finishing the regular season with a win over Washington State.
Joining Jones and Mitchell in earning recognition are 14 Beaver rowers who were named All-Academic Honorable Mention: Tulla Angeley, Margo Calub, Giulia Clerici, Taylor Denger, Madison Ezzell, Roisin Kruse, Charlotte Lightfoot, Rhi Loughnan, Quincey Ludwig, Ashtyn Miller, Katie Myers, Vivian Strayer, Grace Sansoterra and Linda Weitmann.
Oregon State women's rowing will compete in the West Coast Conference Championships in Gold River, Calif., this weekend across two days of racing at Lake Natoma.
