
Zepeda Joins Beavers as Director of Operations

CORVALLIS – Oscar Zepeda has joined the Oregon State men's soccer program as Director of Soccer Operations, the team announced Tuesday.
Zepeda will lead the operational and strategic growth of the program, overseeing key initiatives across revenue generation, facility and program operations, camps and academy development and external partnerships. His work focuses on strengthening long-term program infrastructure, expanding community engagement, aligning soccer operations organizational and business objectives to elevate the student-athlete and fan experience while positioning the program for sustained growth and competitive excellence.
Zepeda brings more than 12 years of national and international experience in business and organizational leadership, with a background spanning corporate development, entrepreneurship, finance, external affairs, marketing and strategic management. His work has focused on building sustainable operational and strategic infrastructure, advancing community-centered initiatives, and delivering high-impact solutions across diverse sectors.
Throughout his career, Zepeda has gained experience on both the business and performance side of the game, bringing a unique perspective that integrates operations, growth, and community impact. A former professional soccer player, Zepeda began his career in Mexico with Santos Laguna FC and Atlas FC before continuing collegiately at Merrimack College. There, he was a four-year starter and team captain, earning All-Conference, All-Region, and Scholar All-Region honors. Over his career, he totaled 77 appearances, 26 points on nine goals and eight assists, and helped lead the Warriors to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including an East Region Final.
Following his playing career, Zepeda served as an assistant men's soccer coach at Merrimack College, where he contributed to the program's NE10 Championship in 2017 and a fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The team recorded 16 wins that season, tying a program record.
Zepeda holds a bachelor's degree in International Business and Marketing from Merrimack College and a master's degree in Applied Economics from Boston College. In recognition of his leadership and community impact, he was named one of Boston's "30 Under 30" Most Influential Latino Leaders in 2019 and selected to the ALX100 in 2025, honoring outstanding Latino leaders making significant contributions across the Commonwealth.
At Oregon State University, Zepeda is a founding member of the President's Commission on Latino/a/e Affairs (PCLA), where he serves as Co-Chair. In this role, he advocates for Latino/a/e employees and advances institutional inclusive excellence by fostering community, strengthening professional development pathways, and supporting initiatives that elevate representation and impact across the university.
