CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Oregon State men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-1 road draw against Virginia Tuesday evening in Charlottesville, Va.

Wyatt Borso found the net for the Beavers, scoring his fourth goal of the season in the first half. Virginia answered with a second-half goal to level the score.

With the tie, Oregon State moves to 2-1-1 on the season.

Gavin Wolff came the closest to scoring in the first 25 minutes of the match, firing a screamer from 26 yards out just over the crossbar. Borso opened the scoring in the 28^th minute, hammering one home after Oliver Hernandez Parra headed down a cross from Wolff.

Diego Rodriguez nearly redirected a Max Eisenberg cross into the net just before the break, but Oregon State headed to the intermission up 1-0.

Borso nearly added a second early in the second half, forcing a save on a fast-moving counter attack. It looked as though Oregon State might be awarded a penalty kick shortly thereafter, but the referee did not award a spot kick after video review.

Virginia started to create some pressure on the Beaver back line in the latter phases of the match, and found the equalizer in the 78^th minute. The teams went back and forth in the closing stretch of the game, but neither side was able to find a winner.

As a team, OSU recorded eight shots in the match, compared to 11 for Virginia.

The Beavers will head north on I-5 on Sunday to take on Portland.
