2013: Hailey Gaspar (pronounced GAS-par) transferred to Oregon State from Boise State following the 2012 season, arriving on campus in June with one year of eligibility remaining … due to ankle injuries, Hailey only performed on the vault in 2013 … scored 9.875 on the vault against Ohio State – her second meet at OSU – earning Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Week … set a season-high of 9.925 at Stanford … scored 9.85 or better six times … earned Pac-12 Second Team on vault … “hit” 11 out of 11 routines in 2013.
BOISE STATE: Hailey trains on three events – vault, balance beam and floor exercise … All-Western Athletic Conference first team member on vault and floor in 2011 … four-time WAC Specialist of the Week … scored career-highs of 9.95 on vault, 9.90 on floor and 9.825 on beam … scored 9.95 on vault three times in her career – 9.95 ties for fifth-highest score on vault in Boise State history … two-time WAC All-Academic team member … NACGC/W Scholar-Athlete in 2011 … “hit” 55 out of 56 routines in her career; 15-15 in 2011, 21-21 in 2010, 19-20 in 2009.
PREP CAREER: Hailey was a five-time Junior Olympic National Championships qualifier (2005-09) … four-time California state champion on vault (2006-09) … two-time state champion in the all-around (2008-09) … 2007 regional champion on vault, floor and all-around … finished second on vault at J.O. Nationals in 2007 and ’08 … 2009 national team member … placed second on floor, fifth on vault and fourth in all-around at 2009 J.O. Nationals … trained at American Gymnastics Academy under coaches Carol and Shane McIntyre.
PERSONAL: Born in Fountain Valley, California … daughter of Christiane Brown and Glenn Gaspar … chose OSU because of “the awesome gymnastics program with great coaches and an amazing home crowd” … majoring in digital media communication.
