Long Beach State won both contests in a home-and-home series that was played in 1995 and 1996. The first was a 65-54 victory on Dec. 9, 1995 in Corvallis and the second was a 68-56 win on Dec. 3, 1996 in Long Beach, Calif.

The Beavers won the last meeting, 78-66, on Nov. 25, 2000 at the Big Island Invitational in Hilo, Hawai'i. Dino Tanner led Oregon State with 22 points, while Brian Jackson added 18 and Adam Masten dropped in 14.
