
Beavers Wrap Up East Coast Trip at Clemson Invite

CLEMSON, S.C. – Oregon State's women's rowing team finished a full weekend of racing at the Clemson Invitational with the Varsity 4+ earning a fourth place finish Sunday morning.
OSU's Varsity 8 battled two other crews for third place in third heat of the V8 slate. The Beavers finished in a time of 6-minutes, 53.9-seconds, coming in just behind Michigan State (6:50.7) and Clemson (6:52.5) for fifth place ahead of Columbia and Tennessee.
In the Second Varsity 8 race, the Beavers crew of Olivia Ashby, Mimi Ballinger, Paige Phillips, Ellie Lesch, Meagan McKinney, Lihani du Plessis, Joely Hannan and Alyssa Beamer and directed by Arcata Leavitt, out-sprinted a crew from Michigan State to finish fifth in their heat, 7:07.7-7:08.2.
The Beavers' V4+ earned a fourth place finish outdueling Indiana's V4+ crew to edge out the Hoosiers by just one second, 7:50.5-7:51.6.
The Beavers are idle next week and before traveling to Washington State for a dual, Saturday, April 30.
