Eubanks Posts Double-Double In Win Over 49ers

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Drew Eubanks posted a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead Oregon State to an 89-81 win over Long Beach State on Saturday night at Gill Coliseum.

Eubanks dominated the smaller 49ers team, going 9-for-12 from the field, with several highlight dunks that excited the home crowd of 5,438, and 8-for-8 from the free throw line. It's the 10th double-double of his career and the eighth time he's scored 20-plus.

Tres Tinkle added 20 points and Stephen Thompson Jr. added 17 with 11 of those coming in the second half.

Long Beach State (2-1) led for only 21 seconds on a 3-pointer to open the game. The Beavers led 40-31 at halftime, built an 11-point advantage in the second half and hit several clutch free throws down the stretch to improve to 2-1 on the season.

JaQuori McLaughlin had a solid all-around game with eight points, four rebounds, five assists and a career high-tying four steals. Ethan Thompson also scored eight and Kendal Manuel added five points off the bench.

Oregon State shot a season-best 55.4 percent (31-for-56) from the field and 75.9 percent (22-for-29) from the stripe.

Bryan Alberts led Long Beach State with 19 points.

The Beavers will travel to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the AdvoCare Invitational. The first game is against St. John's at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT) on Thursday at HP Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
