Beavers Roll Past Colorado, 76-57

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State opened Pac-12 play with a dominating 76-57 win over Colorado on Friday night in front of a Gill Coliseum crowd of 4,481.
The Beavers (9-4, 1-0 Pac-12) shot 61.5 percent from the field in the second half and built a 23-point lead to win its Pac-12 opener for the second time in three years under Wayne Tinkle. It's just the fourth time since 1994-95 Oregon State won its conference opener.
Stephen Thompson Jr. scored a game-high 24 points, with 22 coming in the second half. He made three 3-pointers and added three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Tres Tinkle had a spectacular all-around game with 23 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Ethan Thompson was also solid with 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a career-high four steals.
Drew Eubanks added seven points, nine rebounds and a season-high six blocked shots. His career high is seven swats, which tied an Oregon State single-game record, against Prairie View A&M on Nov. 11, 2016.
Colorado (8-5, 0-1) was led by Tyler Bey's 14 points.
Oregon State held the Buffaloes to 34.5 percent shooting from the field and outscored Colorado 40-26 in the paint and 28-17 on points off turnovers.
The Beavers return to action against Utah at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Gill Coliseum in a game televised nationally on Pac-12 Network.
