THE GAME: Oregon State (9-4, 1-0 Pac-12) goes for the home sweep of the Mountain schools when it hosts Utah (9-3, 1-0) at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Gill Coliseum.

TELEVISION: The game will be televised on Pac-12 Network with Rich Burk and Casey Jacobsen calling the action.

QUICKLY: Oregon State is second in the Pac-12 in scoring defense (69.2) and steals (7.2), and fourth in field goal percentage (.482) and field goal percentage defense (.416) ... Stephen Thompson Jr. needs 17 points to become the 40th Oregon State player to join the 1,000-point club ... Tres Tinkle is shooting 92.6 percent (25-for-27) from the free throw line the last six games; he's made 16 free throws in a row dating back to the Saint Louis game ... Thompson Jr. and Tinkle have combined to score 97 of Oregon State's 154 points the last two games ... Drew Eubanks had six blocked shots against Colorado; he tied the Oregon State single-game record with seven against Prairie View A&M last season ... Ethan Thompson leads the team with 46 assists and is second with 10 blocked shots ... The Beavers are 7-1 with Seth Berger in the starting lineup ... Alfred Hollins played a season-high 22 minutes against Colorado ... Gligorije Rakocevic (calf) and Kendal Manuel (groin) missed the Colorado game with injuries.

vs. UTAH: Oregon State and Utah meet for the 30th time with the Utes leading the series 17-12. Since Utah became a member of the Pac-12 in 2011, the series is tied 5-5.

The home team has dominated the series with the Beavers holding an 11-2 advantage in Corvallis and Utah owning a 13-1 clip in games played in Salt Lake City. The Utes are 2-0 in neutral site games (70-64 on March 12, 1966 in the NCAA Tournament West Regional Final in Los Angeles; 69-61 on Dec. 20, 1997 at the Rose Garden in Portland).

The teams split last season with each winning on their home court. Utah won the first meeting, 86-78, on Jan. 28 at the Huntsman Center. The Beavers bounced back for a 68-67 win on Feb. 19 at Gill Coliseum when Stephen Thompson Jr. made a layup with 10.3 seconds to play. Thompson Jr. scored 61 points in the two games against Utah last season, including a career-high 31 in the game at Gill Coliseum.

The Beavers defeated Utah, 71-69, on Feb. 4, 2016 at Gill Coliseum when Thompson Jr. made three free throws with one-tenth of a second to play.

A WIN OVER THE UTES: If Oregon State defeats Utah it will improve to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in Pac-12 play. It would also:

Be the third time since 1992-93 that Oregon State started 2-0 in conference play (2004-05 and 2010-11 were the others).
Be Oregon State's seventh-straight win at Gill Coliseum.
Be the second time in three years the Beavers swept the Mountain schools at Gill Coliseum.
