Beavers Ready for Showdown with Clackamas

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State wrestling team looks to get back on track this week as they welcome Clackamas C.C. to Gill Coliseum on Friday night, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. for the second all-time meeting between the two schools.

Beavers in the Ranks
Three individuals find themselves ranked midway through the season. 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser sits at No. 3 in four out of the five ranking publications. The redshirt senior is 15-1 on the season, a perfect 7-0 in dual meets, and has been ranked all season at No. 3 since the initial season rankings were released.
Hunter Willits too has been ranked all season long at 157 pounds. This week he enters at No. 18 in TheOpenMat rankings with an 18-6 overall record. Heavyweight Amar Dhesi has wrestled only four matches this season, but is ranked in the top 10 of every ranking publication. Dhesi sits highest at No. 4 in both TheOpenMat and FloWrestling rankings.
Last Time Out
Oregon State dropped its first Pac-12 dual of the season to No. 21 Arizona State inside of Gill Coliseum. The two schools battled until the very end with the last bout deciding the dual in Arizona State's favor, 20-13.
The Beavers got individual wins from Bresser (125), Grant Willits (141), Jamarcus Grant (197), and Dhesi (285).
Clackamas
The Cougars enter Friday's dual with an 11-1 record in dual meets. Clackamas' last time out resulted in a 44-3 win over North Idaho College on Jan. 19. The only loss of the season was a 31-9 decision to NE Oklahoma.
Oregon State and Clackamas have met only one other time in the two school's history. In 2016, the Beavers bested the Cougars 45-0.
Up Next
The Beavers hit the road next week for a pair of duals at Fresno State and Cal Poly. OSU battles the Bulldogs on Thursday, Jan. 31, before travelling to San Luis Obispo for a conference showdown with the Mustangs on Saturday, Feb. 2.
