The Beavers' lone win since 2012 came on Jan. 9, 2016 at Gill Coliseum when Gary Payton II had 20 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and four steals. Tres Tinkle added 15 points and five rebounds off the bench.
The Golden Bears won the only meeting between the teams last season, 74-70, on Feb. 3 at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley. Stephen Thompson Jr. scored a game-high 24 points, Tres Tinkle finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, and Ethan Thompson added 10 points. Darius McNeill led four Cal players in double figures, while Marcus Lee and Kingsley Okoroh scored 14 points apiece and Justice Sueing finished with 11 points.
