Beavers Battle Back, Fall to No. 5 Washington

The Beavers (8-3, 5-3 Pac-12) were held to well under their season averages in both passing and rushing yards with 171 and 148, respectively.
DJ Uiagalelei led OSU in passing with 166 yards on 15 completions from 31 attempts but threw a pair of interceptions. Aiden Chiles was 1-for-2 with a five-yard completion. Damien Martinez had both Beaver touchdowns and led the rushing attack with 153 yards on 26 carries while Uiagalelei totaled 53 yards on six rushes. Silas Bolden caught five passes for 64 yards.
Easton Mascarenas-Arnold led the defense with 7.0 total tackles with four solo stops while a trio – Calvin Hart Jr., Jermond McCoy and James Rawls – each tallied four stops. Kitan Oladapo registered a fumble that Akili Arnold scooped up in the second quarter.
Facing an early 7-0 deficit following the Huskies' first drive, Oregon State answered with a Martinez touchdown from three yards out and tied things off an Atticus Sappington PAT. Responding with a team safety off an Oregon State high snap on a punt and a Michael Penix Jr. score, the Huskies took lead at 16-7. The teams traded scores – a Sappington field goal and a Husky touchdown – to bring the margin to a 22-10 line.
While Oregon State outscored their visitors by a 10-0 margin in the second half, it was not enough to overcome the gap for a win. The Beavers' final attempt for a winning score came to a halt when they could not convert a fourth-and-five on their own 47.
Oregon State will close the regular season by resuming the Rivalry Series next Friday, November 24th, when they take on Oregon. Kickoff from Autzen Stadium in Eugene is set for 5:30 p.m.
