Mitchell Continues to Set Standard, Earns Third All-America Honor
November 18, 2023 | Women's Cross Country
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Oregon State's Kaylee Mitchell cemented her cross country legacy with a third All-American finish and the best individual result in school history, placing 12th at the NCAA National Championships.
Â
Mitchell is the only multi-time cross country All-American in Oregon State history, earning the honors with a top-40 finish in 2020, 2022 and 2023. Her 12th place result outpaced her previous two finishes that were also the best result ever by a Beaver.
Â
Grace Fetherstonhaugh placed 78th after being in the thick of the All-American position for most of the race, struggling in a difficult final kilometer at Panorama Farms.
Â
"Really had a pretty good day. Kaylee was 12th, highest finish ever. So pumped for her. Grace ran fantastic - was 25th with about 800m to go ready to lock up all American and just struggled a bit to the line.  Those things sometimes happen. But, she's amazing and has had such a terrific career.  Doesn't take away that. Immensely proud of the Women and looking forward to getting on the track!" said head coach Louie Quintana
Â
The dynamic duo now heads to their final competing season as Beavs with the indoor track slate to begin on December 2 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston.
