Sophomores Victorious at 2024 Portland Fall Classic
October 27, 2024 | Men's Rowing
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Oregon State men's rowing was in action Sunday morning, competing in the 2024 Portland Fall Classic. Among tricky conditions, it was the Beaver sophomores who stole the show.
"Every year we use this race as our fall edition of the Class Day races. The sophomores, the Class of 2027, proved that last year's win was not a fluke," Head Coach Gabe Winkler said. "Luke Wages stroked both the winning 8+ with his class and the winning 4+. And coxswain, Tamsyn Adams guided both of the top crews to victory. Even in tricky conditions, this is a fun regatta."
Oregon State's sophomores completed the course in 17:03.973, coming in ahead of the seniors (17:31.849), freshmen (17:50.934) and juniors (17:54.299).
The team broke down into 4+'s and raced again with the Oregon State A boat taking the victory.
The Beavers have one more head race this fall before the Orange and Black Regatta on Nov. 9, competing in the Head of the Lake next Sunday, Nov. 3 in Seattle, Wash.
