Beaver Men’s Rowing to Compete in Head of the Lake
November 01, 2024 | Men's Rowing
SEATTLE, Wash. – Oregon State men's rowing has one last head race this fall, scheduled to take place on Sunday in Seattle at the Head of the Lake.
Hosted by the reigning IRA National Champion Washington Huskies, the course starts on Lake Union, passes through Portage Bay and the Montlake Cut into Lake Washington before finishing near the UW Conibear Shellhouse.
Oregon State will have four varsity boats competing on Sunday. Information about the regatta, including live results, can be found at RegattaCentral.com.
The Beavers were last in action at the 2024 Portland Fall Classic. Among tricky conditions, it was the Beaver sophomores who stole the show in an event used as the team's fall Class Day race, winning by some 27 seconds over the senior class with a 17:03.973.
The seniors (17:31.849) were followed by Oregon State's freshmen (17:50.934) and juniors (17:54.299).
The team broke down into 4+'s and raced again with the Oregon State A boat taking the victory. Luke Wages stroked the victorious sophomore eights and the Beaver fours.
OSU men's rowing returns to action next weekend, rounding out its fall season with the 2024 Orange and Black Regatta. Registration is now open and can be found at this link.
