December 17, 2024 | Women's Basketball
MAUI, Hawai'i – Oregon State closes non-conference play this weekend at its home way from home, battling WKU on Thursday and Miami on Friday in the Maui Classic.
The Beavers take on the Hurricanes and Hilltoppers in their annual tournament following a week of community service, cultural events and time enjoying the beauty of Maui. OSU spent time with the students of Seabury Hall on Tuesday, providing both a relaxing distraction from finals as well as advice in a Q&A setting.

OWNING THE BOARDS
Oregon State has been one of the top rebounding teams in the country over the last ten seasons. The Beavs have a rebounding margin of +8.1 during that time, which ranks seventh nationally. In five of those seasons, OSU ranked top-10 in the country in ninth margin while finishing in the top-25 twice more (#23 last season at +7.1)
VOICE OF THE BEAVS
Voice of the Beavers Ron Callan has called 521 Oregon State women's basketball games since joining the program in the 2007-08 season, holding a record of 320-201 during that span. Ron called his 500th game of OSU women's basketball against Utah last season, a 91-66 victory
IRON SHARPENS IRON
Nobody can argue with Oregon State's strength of schedule in the non-conference. The Beavers currently rank fourth in both NCAA NET Strength of Schedule and NCAA NET Average Opponent ranking. The Beavs battled UConn (NET #4) and Minnesota (NET #31) at neutral sites and Illinois (NET #28) on the road within its first six games of the year.
