
Beavers to Close 2024 With Utah Valley and Reno Tournament of Champions

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State wrestling team, fresh off a bye week, will return to action once more in the calendar year with a dual at Utah Valley before competing in the Reno Tournament of Champions this upcoming weekend.

Back to Dual Action
• After more than a month, Oregon State will return to dual action on Friday evening.
• For the third consecutive dual, the Beavers will face a Big 12 opponent in Utah Valley.
• The Beavers and Wolverines will meet for the seventh time in a series OSU holds a 4-2 advantage.
• Following Utah Valley evening the series at 2-2 back in the 2017/18 season, the Beavers have won the last two - including a 31-6 neutral site win (Nampa, Idaho) in the 2021-22 campaign.
• Kekana Fouret (165) competed for the Wolverines in that dual at 174.
Wrapping Up 2024 in Reno
• OSU will venture to Nevada for the Reno Tournament of Champions to close '24. Sunday marks the Beavers' first appearance in the event since 2021.
• The last time the Beavers competed in Reno was quite the success. OSU captured the team title and five individuals - including Trey Munoz - won individual championships three years ago.
• The Beavers competed in the event with frequency in the mid-2000s and 2010s.

Looking Ahead
• Oregon State will open 2025 with an away dual against Ohio State on January 5th.
• It will be the ninth time these OSUs have faced each other and first since the 2001-02 season, a 23-13 win over the Buckeyes.
• The Beavers last faced Ohio State in Columbus in the 1994-95 season.
Last Time Out
• Oregon State competed in the Cliff Keen Invitational two weeks ago in Las Vegas and turned in a 13th-place finish in a loaded field.
• Brett Mower (HWT) was the Beavers' top performer with a fifth-place finish while a duo - Maximo Renteria (125) and Trey Munoz (197) - turned in sixth-place results.
• Mower collected his first ranked wins of the season with a pair coming by decision.
