Clashing with the Cowboys
• Oregon State and Wyoming will meet for the 36th time in a series that dates back to 1960 and the Beavs lead by a 23-12 margin.
• Both sides have taken seven of the last 14 in this series.
• In last season's clash, OSU won the dual's first five bouts - including a major decision at heavyweight - to cruise to a 10-point win in Corvallis.
• The Beavers snapped a three-match skid in Laramie the last time they met in the Cowboy State with a 22-12 win highlighted with wins by Brandon Kaylor (major decision), now-assistant coach Cory Crooks and Trey Munoz.
Tough Tests in '23/'24
• Six of Oregon State's 10 matchups this season have come against a ranked opponent.
• All of the Beavers' setbacks have been to ranked foes, three of which were in the top-seven at the time of the dual.
• Day one of the season included a come-from-behind win over then-25th-ranked North Carolina on the road in Chapel Hill.
Rousing Debut for Romero
• In his first bout as a Beav, Maximo Renteria (125) registered his first win in drastic fashion, upsetting then-11th-ranked Richard Figueroa of Arizona State on Sunday afternoon.
• Renteria took the bout by decision with a score of 9-5 after clinching a bonus point thanks to the riding time edge.
Accolades Aplenty
• In the first 10 weeks of the season, four Beavs - Gabe Whisenhunt (133), Brandon Kaylor (125), Trey Munoz (184) and Cleveland Belton (141) - have taken the Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week honors. All were received following ranked wins.
• No other school in the Pac-12 has had more than two student-athletes win the league's weekly honor this season.
