
Beavers Draw With Redhawks

CORVALLIS – Sergi Solans scored with less than 90 seconds to play, as the Oregon State men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against Seattle U Thursday evening at Lorenz Field.
Solans' goal was his fourth in Oregon State's last three matches, as he brought his team best tally to four on the year. Tomas Bedouret scored his first collegiate goal early in the second half, evening the score after Seattle U found the net in the opening minutes of the contest. Fabian Straudi was credited with an assist, extending his total to five helpers on the year.
Solans had the first scoring chance of the match for the Beavers, forcing a save from eight yards out within the first five minutes of the contest. The Redhawks drew first blood 10 minutes later, converting on a counter-attack to take an early lead.
Oregon State pressed forward on a number of occasions throughout the first half, but could not level the score, as the Redhawks led 1-0 at the break.
Arnau Farnos took aim from distance less than a minute into the second 45, but his effort sailed over the crossbar. Bedouret converted on a header in the 48th minute to even the score.
Seattle U retook the advantage in the 68th minute, scoring shortly after the restart following a lengthy VAR review.
Nicklas Lund headed a corner just wide of the post in the 78th minute, as the Beavers turned the screw late on. Solans headed one home in the closing moments to salvage a draw for Oregon State.
As a team, OSU out-shot Seattle U 13-9. The Beavers debuted their new orange uniforms in the contest, wearing the color for the first time since the 2017 season.
The Beavers will hit the road next week for a Wednesday matchup at Utah Valley.
