
Beavs End Weekend with New Record

RENO, Nev. – The Oregon State Track and Field team saw a new school record at the Nevada Invitational.
The 4x400 team of Megan Hatcher, Addison Swartzendruber, Jada Hurley, and Dede Norman had dominant first-place finish. Their time of 3:43.49 not only secured the victory but also cinched the OSU record, adding another milestone to an already successful meet.

Jayla Hooper delivered a stellar performance in the shot put, earning second place with a throw of 14.49m/47-6.5, which now ranks her #3 in OSU history. Beatrice Pettersson also impressed, placing sixth with a mark of 13.98m/45-10.5 to cap off a strong showing for the Beavers.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Dede Norman showcased her consistency, qualifying for the finals with a time of 9.07 in the preliminaries and matching that effort in the finals to earn fifth place. Her finals time marked a new personal best and moved her to #8 on OSU's all-time list.
In the 60 meters, Jada Hurley led the Beavers with a 10th-place finish, clocking 7.67 in the preliminaries. Delaney Bahn followed closely in ninth with a time of 7.89. Mersayis Shedd and Lilia Montiel also contributed solid efforts, finishing 26th and 30th, respectively.
DAY ONE
Jayla Hooper broke her own school record for the third time in as many meets, placing first overall in the weight throw on day one at the Nevada Invitational. Hooper, who debuted with a record-setting throw of 19.19m/62-11.5 at the Silver State Invitational and extended it to 20.53m/67-4.25 at the UW Preview, has now surpassed the previous OSU record by over 11 feet. Beatrice Pettersson and Markayla Billings also delivered strong performances in the weight throw, placing 16th and 17th with distances of 15.04m/49-4.25 and 14.78m/48-6, respectively.
Dede Norman joined the six-foot club in the high jump with a personal best of 1.83m/6-0, earning first place and moving to #3 in OSU history. Norman also excelled in the long jump, leaping 5.99m/19-8 to place third and claim the #2 spot in school history. In the pole vault, Mia Fowler set a personal best of 3.75m/12-3.5 to secure fourth place and move to #2 in OSU records, while teammates Maddy Juhler and Claire Lee also achieved Top 10 finishes. On the track, Jada Hurley led OSU in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.96 for 17th place, followed by Megan Hatcher, who moved to #6 in OSU history with a time of 25.12.
