
Record-Breaking Beavs Travel North

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Coming off a big weekend where they set two new school records and added nine new marks to OSU's all-time Top 10, the Oregon State Track and Field Team will travel to Seattle, Wash., to compete at the UW Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The last time the Beavs were in Seattle, just two weeks ago for the UW Preview, they came with something to prove. Posting a new OSU record, eight Top-10 marks and eight personal bests, the Beavers are looking to keep the momentum going heading into the weekend.

Mia Fowler, Maddy Juhler and Claire Lee will start the weekend with pole vault at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The action continues with weight throw and long jump at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday

Day one of the Nevada Invitational saw standout performances from the Beavers, starting with Jayla Hooper breaking her own school record for the third consecutive meet in the weight throw, achieving a mark of 20.53m/67-4.25 for first place. Beatrice Pettersson and Markayla Billings earned 16th and 17th place, respectively.

In the high jump, Dede Norman joined the six-foot club with a personal best of 1.83m/6-0, claiming first place and the #3 spot in OSU history, while also finishing third in the long jump with a leap of 5.99m/19-8, which ranks #2 in school history.

Mia Fowler impressed in the pole vault with a personal best of 3.75m/12-3.5 to secure fourth place and move to #2 in OSU records. On the track, Jada Hurley led the Beavers in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.96, while Megan Hatcher moved to #6 in OSU history with a time of 25.12.

Day two was highlighted by a new school record in the 4x400 relay. Hatcher, Addison Swartzendruber, Hurley and Norman secured a dominant first-place finish with a time of 3:43.49, breaking the OSU record and adding another milestone to their season.

In the shot put, Hooper earned second place with a throw of 14.49m/47-6.5, ranking her #3 in OSU history, and Pettersson placed sixth with a mark of 13.98m/45-10.5. Norman continued her strong meet in the 60-meter hurdles, where she achieved a personal best of 9.07 in the finals to earn fifth place and claim the #8 spot on OSU's all-time list.
