SQUEAKY CLEAN:
Oregon State played Pacific to a scoreless draw on Saturday at Paul Lorenz Field, marking the team's first clean sheet of 2025. Mya Sanchez made three saves in net while Megin Turi also stopped a headed shot off the line to keep the Tigers off the board; OSU finished with three shutouts in the 2024 campaign.
BEST OF THE BEST:
Mya Sanchez has played every single minute of the 2025 season and enters Saturday's game with the second most saves by any player in the conference, stopping 84 shots and posting a save percentage of 76.4. An All-Conference Honorable Mention selection last year with 92 saves, Sanchez recently took sole possession of eighth place in program history for all-time saves and would become just the eighth Beaver ever to surpass 200 in a single career if she maintains her current pace.
ENGINE:
A player whose impact rarely shows up in box scores, Mia Erba has played all but three minutes across her 15 appearances (15 starts) this season. She played 90-plus minutes in 22 consecutive games during a stretch that crossed from 2024 into 2025 and, across her last 33 appearances, has gone the full 90 minutes in 31 games while playing deep within the Oregon State midfield.
EARLY IMPACT:
Avery Pleiman's ascension into the Beaver lineup continued last week, playing 90 minutes against both Washington State and Pacific, the WSU matchup marking the first time this season that the freshman played every minute. After playing consistent minutes as a reserve across the team's first 10 games, Pleiman has started each of the last five, averaging 75.6 minutes per appearance while tallying three shots (two on goal) and scoring in the Beavs' 4-1 win over San Diego on Oct. 12.
PLAYING TIME:
Saturday's game against Pacific was senior day, and a pair of Beaver veterans returned to the pitch. Historically a defender, Kassidy Michael played nine minutes off the bench up in the Beaver attack, her first minutes since starting against Portland on Oct. 4, while Madison Paolini spent six minutes on the pitch, her first minutes since Sept. 24 at Pepperdine.
SHOTS:
Oregon State out-shot Pacific 13-10 in Saturday's game, which marked the fourth time this season that the Beavs have out-shot an opponent, having previously accomplished the feat against Idaho State (Aug. 28 – 11-8), New Mexico (Aug. 31 – 17-12) and LMU (Sept. 28 – 16-15). Alyssa White and Lindsey Antonson both led the team with three shots apiece while Carly Carraher added two more to fuel the Beaver attack.
STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE:
The Beavers have three quality opponents to round out the regular season, starting with Seattle U who sits in the top half of the WCC standings and has a winning record. Next Wednesday's home finale comes against Saint Mary's, who was the first team in the conference to reach 10 wins and currently sits at second in the standings, while Gonzaga, who OSU plays in the regular season finale, is 4-2-2 during conference play and sits at fourth in the standings.
BEAVS IN THE PROS:
With Katie Godden (Charlton Athletic / England) and McKenna Martinez (Valadares Gaia / Portugal) each signing professional contracts after the conclusion of last season, Oregon State has officially sent six players into the professional ranks across the last four seasons. Led off by Laura Galceran and Bridgette Skiba in 2021, Reese Moffatt signed a deal in 2022 before Hailey Coll in 2023 and both Godden and Martinez in 2024.
In total, there are currently 10 former Beavers active in the professional ranks, playing in countries such as Portugal, Norway, Spain, England, Mexico and the United States; this list is highlighted by Bella Bixby (née Geist), who currently plays for the Portland Thorns of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), but also includes Kate Evans (West Brom), Emma Jones (Portsmouth) and Greta Espinoza (Tigres).
BACK THE PAC:
Oregon State will play its final season in the West Coast Conference this fall before returning to Pac-12 play in 2026. All eight of the conference's other members, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Texas State, Utah State and Washington State, sponsor women's soccer, each bringing a high level of talent to the conference. Utah State is the reigning Mountain West Tournament Champion, also winning the conference tournament in 2023, while Boise State was crowned regular season champion in 2024 after San Diego State was crowned regular season champions the year prior. Texas State is coming off a 12-win season in 2024 that ended with a 3-2 loss in the Sun Belt Championship.
