Beavs Go Inside-Out for Sunday Victory
December 07, 2025 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State splashed 10 three-pointers and won the rebounding battle by 31 to overcome a tough shooting day in a 69-53 victory over Alaska-Anchorage.
"Down the stretch, we found a way. Our group in the second quarter did a great job of establishing control defensively. From that point forward, I felt like we were in control the remainder of the game with the exception of a couple threes we let get up. And then offensively we just kept grinding and ultimately we found a way," head coach Scott Rueck said.
Katelyn Field led the way from distance, hitting three triples en route to a career-high 11 points, and finished with the team's best plus-minus at +23. Fellow freshman Lara Alonso-Basurto reeled in 10 rebounds to lead the effort on the boards.
Tiara Bolden had yet another strong game in the friendly confines of Gill Coliseum with 23 points, six rebounds and five assists. The senior guard made 9-of-17 shots including a 2-for-4 day from distance.
Lizzy Williamson didn't pile up counting stats due to the Seawolves collapsing on her in the paint. Instead, she kept the ball moving and recorded four assists, one away from her career-high, and a +20 day in 16 minutes of action.
The Beavs pulled away in the third and fourth quarters after a tight first half. OSU allowed Alaska to score 24 points in the first quarter before holding the Seawolves to 10, eight and 11 points in the remaining three periods. In the end, the Beavs held the visitors to 30 percent shooting from the field.
Oregon State battles former Pac-12 foe Arizona State next Sunday, December 14 after taking a week off games so the student-athletes can focus on their finals. The game will be streamed on ESPN+
