
Beavers Close Road Slate in California

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Following a two-match home weekend, the Oregon State wrestling team will make their final road trip of the season this weekend.
The Beavers will close Pac-12 competition in California, where they will face with Cal Poly on Friday night.

One More Time on the Road
• Oregon State is making its final trip of the regular season, down to California's central coast to meet Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
• Friday's contest marks the fourth and final road dual of the season and first in the Pacific Time Zone.
Beavers vs. Mustangs
• Oregon State and Cal Poly will meet Friday in the last Pac-12 dual for the Beavers this season.
• The two sides have split the last two meetings with each side taking their last home meeting.
• Cal Poly's win in February 2023 snapped an 11-match winning streak for the Beavers.
• Oregon State leads the all-time series by a 47-12-2 mark.
Again, Stiles is Leading the Pac
• #18 Ethan Stiles was named the Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week following last week's action.
• The Chicago product had two majors - over #7 Jaden Abas of Stanford and CSUB's Brock Rogers - in the duals last weekend.
• Stiles is no stranger to the award as he was honored by the league in November following his win over then-No. 8 Teague Travis of Oklahoma State.
• The redshirt freshman is also the sole winner of the award to win it in different weight classes.
Battle Tested
• The Beavers' 2024-25 season has not let up in terms of toughness.
• In the nine duals this season, six have been against ranked opponents and of those six, three have been against schools ranked in the top-five of InterMat's polls.
In the Rankings
• Five - Maximo Renteria, Ethan Stiles, CJ Hamblin, Trey Munoz and Brett Mower - are ranked this week by FloWrestling and four - Renteria, Stiles, Hamblin and Mower - also are featured in InterMat's poll.
• Renteria is slotted at 11 in both polls this week.
• Following two major decisions last week, Stiles jumped 15 spots - from 33rd to 18th - in this week's InterMat poll.
• After a ranked win against Stanford, Hamblin cracked the rankings at 25th and 27th this week.
• Stiles is the sole Beaver to be named to different polls this season. He's been tabbed at both 149 and 157.
Last Time Out
• In their first - and only - multi-dual weekend of the season, Oregon State split the action, narrowly upsetting 16th-ranked Stanford before defeating CSU Bakersfield just two days later.
• Against Bakersfield, the Beavers won five bouts by bonus points - four by major decision and one by fall.
Looking Ahead
• The Beavers will close the 2024-25 regular season on February 23rd when the North Carolina Tar Heels visit Gill Coliseum.
• Oregon State will honor its graduating student-athletes prior to the match.
• North Carolina will be making their first trip to Corvallis when the two sides meet.
• After opening the 2023-24 season in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels will visit to close 2024-25.
